2021 HAJJ: Bauchi Governor launches Hajj savings scheme

The Executive Governor of Bauchi Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has launched Hajj Savings Scheme of the North Eastern States at the Conference Hall, New Hajj Transit Camp, Bauchi.

Speaking, Governor Bala thanked NAHCON and Jaiz Bank for finding Bauchi worthy to host the start up of the operation.

He added that the Hajj Savings Scheme will introduce certain level of financial discipline and savings culture for the enrolled members.

On the current cost of Hajj in Nigeria, the Governor appealed for reduction/ subsidy to allow for massive participation of muslims during hajj exercise.

Governor Bala said his administration will provide enabling environment for hajj managers to perform their responsibilities effectively for the benefit of Bauchi pilgrims.

He thanked Chairman of NAHCON and his management team for the special attention given to Bauchi State assured them of a continued working partnership.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alhaji Zikrullah Olakunle Hassan explained that the scheme is a aimed at assisting all Nigerians irrespective of their financial status to save over a period of time for the purpose of Hajj.

He expressed gratitude for vast store of goodwill, enthusiasm and support shown to them by the Government and people of Bauchi State.

The NAHCON boss thanked Governor Bala for supporting the Commission to discharge its assignment diligently for effective hajj administration in Nigeria.

On their separate remarks, the Honorable Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt Honorable Abubakar Y Suleiman and His Royal Highness Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar commended Governor Bala for constructing the new modern Hajj Camp and called for proper utilisation of the centre.
