Katsina state police Command says it has banned the annual Ramadan TASHE festival activities across the state for security reasons.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer SP Gambo Isa and made available to newsmen in Katsina.

The statement says the command observes that unscrupulous criminal elements known as “KAURAYE” are taking advantage of the season to perpetrate their heinous crimes such as armed robbery, extortion, house breaking and theft in the state.

The Command warns all parents to look after their children as any person found disguising under TASHE to commit crime will be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the extant laws of the state.

The statement quotes the State Commissioner of Police CP Sanusi Buba as urging the people of the state to always cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious person to them.
