Palliatives: FGN distributes 13,554 bags of rice in Kebbi.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delivered additional consignment of 25kg,13,554 bags of rice to Kebbi in furtherance of effort to bring succour to the less privileged under the present economic situation.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari performed the distribution exercise in Birnin Kebbi, on Wednesday,assisted by Governor Nasir Idris, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and the Senior Special Assistant on Politics to the President, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari.

13,554 vulnerable persons went home with one bag each as benevolence from the Federal Government.

According to the Agriculture Minister “The Federal Government has sent palliatives before now, but President Tinubu mandated me to come to Kebbi to see if further assistance is needed”,

“Mr. President is happy about the performance of Governor Nasir Idris in his leadership of the state to improve the living condition of the populace”,

“He has earned the recognition of President Tinubu on agricultural production, the provision of additional palliative items stem from this recognition”,

” The North West Region is at the heart of Tinubu, Kebbi is like a home to him, Tinubu has love for the region”,

“The Federal Government is aware that Kebbi State is also a victim of flooding, federal authorities will come out with a programme to mitigate against the devastating effect of climate change”, the Minister announced.

In a goodwill message, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, informed the gathering that the federal government’s delegation was in Kebbi State on the authority of President Tinubu to complement what the government of Kebbi State has been doing in the provision of palliatives to the people.

“President Tinubu is satisfied about the remarkable performance of Governor Nasir Idris, Kebbi alone can feed the nation, in the wisdom of the President, he offers support to states to the fullest to succeed’,

“Kebbi Governor has made submissions to President Tinubu which have all been approved, he wants Kebbi to excel, we sincerely thank the President “, Bagudu said.

Speaking on the same pedestal, the Senior Special Assistant on Politics to the President, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, said Governor Nasir Idris, has received accolades from President Tinubu on steering the affairs of Kebbi State.

In response, Governor Nasir Idris thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his love and assistance to Kebbi State, acknowledging the delivery of another consignment of rice as palliative.

“The gesture of Mr. President is tremendous, he has been benevolent to Kebbi State, we remain grateful, loyal and supportive”,

Governor Nasir Idris also stated that his administration under the Kaura Agricultural Development and Growth Agenda,KADAGE program has done alot in the agricultural sector and has also distributed palliatives to people of the state to reduce the harsh economic condition.

‘ We have since launched the Kaura Agricultural Development and Growth Agenda,KADAGE aimed at modernising the agricultural landscape for improved productivity and economic empowerment of people.

Under the KADAGE agenda,we have in the last one year procured and distributed to our people,500 trucks of assorted fertiliser,300 trucks of assorted food stuff,5000 Solar-powered pumps, 10,000 LPG power pumps,10,000 LPG conversion Kits, Power Tillers and Motorized sprayers’, he averred.

Governor Idris also eulogised the Minister for Budget and Economic Planning,Senator Bagudu ‘ We are also happy about the performance of Minister Atiku Bagudu, we have no regret sending you to Abuja as representative of our state, we are proud of you, Kebbi is behind you always”, Kauran Gwandu narrated.
