The Kebbi State Government has pledged continued support to the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) in its mission to provide quality education.

This assurance was given by the State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, during a courtesy visit by the Governing Council of FUBK on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi.

Governor Idris, represented by his Deputy, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, emphasized the Governor’s strong commitment to education, highlighting his background as a former teacher.

He underscored the importance of education as a cornerstone for success and societal development.“Our administration is committed to supporting the University in achieving its core mandate.

‘ Education is essential for the success, growth, and development of any society.

‘ The Government stands ready to provide the necessary support to move the University forward,” he stated.

Governor Idris also recognized the strong relationship between the University and the State Government, announcing that directives have been issued to expedite the certification of the University’s land through the Commissioner and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Lands.

Earlier, the Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of FUBK’s Governing Council, Alhaji Abubakar Jatau, expressed gratitude on behalf of the University for the consistent support from the State Government.

He noted the significant contributions of the Government, including the donation of the land on which the University is built and an additional vast area of land, for which certification is still pending.

“We are deeply appreciative of the Kebbi State Government’s assistance since the University’s inception.

We are particularly grateful for the land provided and urge the Government to expedite the certification process,” he said.

The Pro-Chancellor also commended the state’s achievements in the education sector and encouraged other states to follow Kebbi State’s example.
