JIGAWA: LGA Chairman passes Law prohibiting prostitution, production and consumption of Alcohol

The Chairman of Gwaram Local Government Council of Jigawa state, Hon. Zahraddeen Abubakar, has passed a law that prohibits the consumption, distribution and local production of Alcohol across the local government.

The law also bans prostitution and operation or ownership of brothels across the local government area.

This was contented in a statement signed by the Gwaram Local Government Chairman and made available to newsmen on Thursday 15 of July 2021.

According to the statement other psychoactive drugs and substances are also prohibited in Gwaram Local Government.

Zahraddeen Abubakar further said the law has provides that those engaged in prostitution can register themselves with the local government if they are interested to be married off between now and one month or face the wrath of the law.
