Gov Idris approves about N525 million for payment of tuition, registration fees for Kebbi students

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has approved the release of Five Hundred and Twenty four million, Five Hundred and Forty Seven Thousand, Nine hundred and Twenty Naira for payment of tuition and registration fees for Kebbi State students studying in India and Nigeria.

This is contained in a Press Statement signed by the Hon. Commissioner for Higher Education, Hon. Isah Abubakar Tunga and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi this Friday.

According to the statement, N265,654,000, (Two Hundred and Sixty Five Million, Six Hundred and Fifty Four Thousand Naira) has been approved by the governor to cover for Fifty (50) students studying in various Universities in India including those who changed their initial courses of Medical related to Humanities.

In the same vein, Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has approved the payment of Return Flight Tickets from India to Birnin Kebbi of (13) Thirteen students who graduated from various Universities across India.

The statement further explained that the sum of , N258,893,920, (Two Hundred and Fifty Eight Million, eight hundred and ninety three thousand, Nine Hundred and Twenty Naira) was approved for payment of registration fees of 2,828, (Two Thousand , Eight Hundred and Twenty Eight) Students of Kebbi State origin, studying in Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto for 2023/2024 academic session.

The Ministry for Higher Education under the Hon. Commissioner, Isah Abubakar Tunga expresses immense appreciation to Governor Nasir Idris for his gigantic efforts in promoting Higher Education and ensuring academic excellence in our tertiary institutions in Kebbi State.

Earlier in March this year, Governor Nasir Idris paid for all students studying medicine and related courses in India and Egypt.
