Foundation gives 120 students free scholarship in Zamfara

The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of Credent Capital & Advisory LTD, Dr. Dauda Lawal has sponsored 120 Zamfara indigenes to study various degree and master programmes at the Iheris University, Togo.

The 120 scholarships were awarded through Dr. Dauda Lawal Foundation yesterday in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State.
The event was chaired by the coordinator Dr. Dauda Lawal Foundation, Engineer Ahmed Garba Yandi.

In his remark, Engineer Yandi stated that the foundation had made a careful selection of the 120 students across the 14 local government areas of the state.
He said all the beneficiaries were children of less privileged people who cannot afford to finance their education.

“The students would undergo first-degree and masters programmes in various fields including computer engineering, information technology, public administration, international relations, human resources management, and computer science.”
“All arrangements have been in place for the take-off of the students in two weeks.” He said

While presenting the admission letters to the 120 students, the Zamfara State Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Lawal Liman who represented the former Governor of the State, Abdul’aziz Yari described the occasion as unprecedented and important.
Liman said it was unprecedented because, since the creation of the state, this was the first of its kind for an individual to sponsor such a large number of youths to study different courses in a university outside the country.

Also in attendance was Alhaji Sirajo Mai Katako who represented Distinguished Senator Kabiru Marafa. Mai Kato also presented admission letters to some of the beneficiaries
Other key politicians and stakeholders at the August event were Alhaji Mai Buhu Gummi, Alhaji Abubakar Chika Maru, Alhaji Ibrahim Nabature, Alhaji Ibrahim Danmaliki, Alhaji Ibrahim Dan Madami among others.
