COVID-19: Kebbi recieves 60,704 doses of Moderna Vaccines from Federal Government

The Federal Government has delivered Sixty thousand, seven hundred and four, doses of Moderna Covid-19 vaccines to Kebbi State to expand coverage of vaccination against Covid-19 Pandemic in the State.

The Commissioner for Health and Chairman State Taskforce on Covid-19, Rt Hon. Ja’afaru Muhammad announced this while briefing newsmen at the Cold Store of the Ministry of Health, Birnin Kebbi, this Wednesday, where the vaccines are kept.

He explained that the moderna vaccines would be distributed throughout the twenty one local government areas of the State for immediate application to persons from eighteen years and above.

The Commissioner made it clear that the moderna vaccines have been certified safe and effective by the regulating Agencies including NAFDAC in Nigeria.

Hon. Jaafaru Muhammad advised people in the state to access the vaccines, by those who have not been vaccinated with Astrazeneca vaccine.

He said anybody who has received Astrazeneca immunization should not take moderna but await the second dose (phase) of Astrazeneca Vaccine.

The Commissioner was delighted about the performance of Kebbi State in Covid-19 Vaccination during the first phase implementation excercise which placed it in third position nationwide.

The Commissioner flagged-off the roll of the moderna vaccines on behalf of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

It will be recalled that the Fifty Seven thousand doses of Astrazeneca vaccines earlier supplied to the state have been expended during the inaugural Flag-off
