He made the statement during the closing ceremony of Quiz & Debate Competition and Scholarship Disbursement organized by Burra Students Association (BUSA) and sponsored by a London-based medical consultant Dr. Magaji Sani Abubakar (Magajin Garin Burra) which took place at GSS Burra Assembly Hall on Sunday.

The Speaker who was represented by his Spokesperson Abdul Ahmad Burra stated that education is the backbone for the development of every individual and every community hence the need for all elites and politicians in the State to invest heavily in the education sector as a payback to the communities in which they were born or nursed.

“This the reason I initiated many educational support programmes when I was civil servant and after I joined politics in which every year, I pay off the registration of UTME and disburse bursaries to students from my Emirate.

“I started my secondary education here in GSS Burra, thus as a payback to people of Burra, I have been supporting the education of many people here since 2010.

“My greatest priority as a politician is education. In fact my future political ambition is based on my desire to support education and bring job opportunities for my people from the federal level. I want to assure the people of Burra and the entire Ningi Emirate that I will continue to offer helping hands in education, job creation and development of our various communities.” He said.

Speaker Abubakar Y Suleiman commended Dr. Magaji Sani Abubakar for his foresight and patriotism by supporting the education of his community though he is far away in UK, saying there can’t be better payback than this and all his ilks should emulate him.
